A little About Myself

I can't believe it's been 3 years! Back in the mid 80's I found a bumper sticker "Who Am I, Where's My car?" I put it on a friends car, she had a scattered life and was sleeping off a hangover , (thankfully she loved the sticker!). I wish I had bought two, it would totally fit my life today, less the hangover. I run 7 websites including this one, host several forums, I work for my husband in the mornings as a bookkeeper & office manager in his Mechanical Contractor business, I work for a General Contractor in the afternoons, I volunteer in the Jackson Hole Community Band as a musician, librarian, web admin, and board member, and go summer and winter outdoor activities with my family on the weekends. Even though I don't post updates much, which I'll try to do better, I work on inScoreOrder almost every day.

I took the volunteer Librarian position in 2004, after several weeks of the conductor announcing the need. My paid job is an office manager and bookkeeper, at the time I was a unit secretary for the surgical department. My job is filing, and seeing all that unfiled music every week was making me crazy, or maybe I just has "Sucker" written across my forehead. When I took the job I knew nothing about being a music librarian, score order, instrument keys, etc. The first thing I was assigned after getting the music put in score order and filed, was a laptop with MS Access installed and about 80 titles entered into it. However, even though it was a database program the set up was just a glorified Excel spread sheet. I built the database to work as our library and endtered all our music into it. At the time we had over 1100 charts, I took home one drawer of music at a time and entered it, a few at at time, in the mornings before work. I took the website admin position and did a redesign in 2011. I knew I wanted to put our library on line from the beginning, but I had to teach myself PHP & SQL. In 2014, after many hours of work, I decided to give my program a name and get a URL, inScoreOrder.

I work on the program nearly every morning before work. We also use it live, so I spend a lot of time with data entry and skipping around to make sure it does the things we need it to do. Many of the functions are the results of necessity and requests from the conductors and members. Please take a look at the Jackson Hole Community Band's library hosted with inScoreOrder and sign up for emails. I can't wait for this is available as a WordPress plug in!! I hope you feel the same.
